Advertiser FAQ

Common questions before you submit a creative.

Getting started

How long until my ad is live?
After you complete Stripe checkout, an admin reviews the creative — usually within one business day. Once approved, the placement is live within minutes.
Do I need a Korean version of the banner?
No. If you only have English copy, choose "English site only" in the wizard. If you have both, choose "Both sites" — that creative will be served on both /ko and /. We do NOT auto-translate.
Can I run the same creative on multiple placements?
Yes — pick a placement bundle that includes the slots you want. The matrix packages already group complementary slots (e.g. PREMIUM covers home_dining_mid + home_neighborhood_top + restaurant_grid_card + mobile_sticky_footer).

Pricing & billing

How is the price calculated?
Base price × tier multiplier × locale multiplier. Tier: Primary 1.0×, Secondary 0.37×, Tertiary 0.20×. Locale: en/ko 1.0×, both 1.5×. The wizard shows the final number before you pay.
Are there discounts?
Annual prepay (20% off) is on the roadmap. For now everything is monthly. Loyalty discounts after 6 consecutive months are also planned.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover — anything Stripe Checkout supports. We do not invoice on net-30; Stripe is the only billing channel.
Where do I find invoices / receipts?
Open /dashboard/billing → "Manage billing" → Stripe Customer Portal. Every invoice has a PDF download. They're also emailed automatically at the end of each billing cycle.
How do I cancel?
Customer Portal → Cancel subscription. By default the placement runs until the end of the current billing period (no proration). Cancellation reasons are optional but help us improve.

Tiers & rotation

How does the rotation work?
Each slot allows up to 3 advertisers — one Primary (70% of impressions), one Secondary (20%), one Tertiary (10%). On every page load the server picks one ad using these weights and increments only that ad's impression count.
What if all 3 tiers are sold for the slot I want?
You can join the waitlist. Existing advertisers don't have rollover privileges — when their billing period ends, the slot reopens. We notify waitlisted advertisers in order.
Can I upgrade my tier later?
Yes — Customer Portal → Switch plans. Stripe prorates the difference for the rest of the billing period.
Why are there only 3 tiers, not 5 or more?
Past a certain point, additional advertisers each get too few impressions to make the placement worth their money. 3 is the sweet spot where everyone's share is meaningful.

Creative & review

Who reviews the creative?
An admin from Atlanta Koreatown's editorial team, against the published Ad Policies. We check the image, the click-through URL, and the title against our content guidelines.
What gets rejected?
Anything that violates the policies — alcohol/tobacco/cannabis ads, deceptive UI, fake notifications, brand impersonation. See /advertise/policies for the full list. Rejection triggers an automatic refund.
Can I change the creative after it's approved?
Edits go through admin review again. Use /admin/ads (or contact us) to swap the image or URL.
Do you provide design services?
Not yet — that's a Phase 2 add-on. Until then, please supply your own banner. Recommended sizes are listed per placement on /advertise.

Performance

How do I see clicks / impressions?
Open /dashboard/billing → Your Ad Placements. Each ad row shows live impressions and clicks. A monthly summary email is on the roadmap (Phase 2).
Can I A/B test two creatives?
On the roadmap (Phase 2). For now, you can manually pause one creative and submit a new one to compare windows.
Why is my impression count low?
Several reasons: (a) you're on Secondary or Tertiary tier and the Primary is taking 70% of impressions, (b) you chose a single-locale scope and only half the visitors see it, (c) the slot itself gets less traffic than home-level slots (e.g. neighborhood_bottom only fires on neighborhood guide pages).
